Juno Wheeler, LMSW has spent her career creating spaces where survivors of trauma can feel seen and heard in their wholeness, their pain, their joy and all of the beautiful messiness in between. Juno is a graduate of NYU where she received her masters in Social Work. Juno has spent time working as an on call advocate for survivors of trauma in hospital settings, as an individual trauma therapist for survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence and has also worked as a group and individual therapist for adolescents and young folks.
Juno believes that all people are entitled to their vitality and believes that trauma therapy is meant to be a collaborative effort to pursue just that. Juno continues to do her own reflection and learning in order to work from an anti-oppressive lens, acknowledging the impact of interpersonal, systemic, and intergenerational traumas. Juno comes from a mind/ body, emotion-focused, healing-oriented approach and hopes to highlight her client’s innate resilience.
Juno offers a compassionate and affirming therapeutic space that welcomes clients as they are and safely challenges them to explore uncharted waters. Juno has engaged in trainings in AEDP, DBT, Mindfulness, Trauma informed movement, and is currently training in EMDR as well as pursuing her certificate in Trauma Studies at the Manhattan Institute for Psychoanalysis. Juno specializes in working with folks who are healing from relational abuse and sexual trauma and hopes to help her clients feel safe in their relationship with themselves and with others in their life. Outside of the office, Juno is obsessed with her rescue pup- Olive, vintage furniture shopping and treasures any chances she gets to get to the ocean.
